How to Share a Dashboard

Custom Signals dashboards are restricted by default, meaning they are only visible to the user who created the dashboard. To share a custom Signals dashboard, select share on that dashboard’s menu options.

You will then have the ability to share access with the entire organization, or select specific users to share access with. Note that, as always, hierarchy permissions apply to what content any user has access to.

Org-Wide vs. Individual User Permissions

If there is a conflict between org-wide and user-specific permissions, user-specific permissions take precedence.

Examples:

  1. Org-wide access is Can Edit, but an individual user, Jane Doe, Can View. In this case, Jane Doe can only view the dashboard, but everyone else at the organization can edit.

  2. Org-wide access is Can View, but an individual user, Jane Doe, Can Edit. In this case, Jane Doe can edit the dashboard, but everyone else at the organization can only view it.

Where Custom Dashboards Live

All custom Signals dashboards can be found within Signals, in the left side navigation.

Custom Dashboards that you create will be visible under My Dashboards in the side panel. Custom Dashboards that other users create and share with you can be found under Shared With Me in the side panel.

You can “favorite” a dashboard by clicking the heart in the top right corner of the dashboard moves the dashboard to the Favorites section.
